About the Role
The Engineering and Test Directorate at Stennis Space Center is seeking an individual to serve as the Chief of the Test Support Division. You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers and Technicians in the execution and support of the center's primary line of business: Rocket Propulsion Test. You will provide strategic direction; ensure personnel are trained and ready to execute for the mission; and develop tools and processes to improve capabilities and efficiencies.
What You'll Do
- →Provide leadership of the Test Support Division, coordinating and planning of personnel assignments for the execution and support of propulsion test projects and other technical initiatives supporting NASA, commercial partners, and national programs.
- →Establish, refine, and maintain training and development of personnel in support of directorate activities.
- →Promote consistency, transparency, and accountability across all Engineering and Test Directorate projects.
- →Guide project formulation, resource planning, and integration activities.
- →Ensure projects are properly scoped, resourced, and aligned with directorate and center priorities.
- →Lead a team of personnel to assign work; evaluate performance; mentor personnel; and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- →Promote professional development and succession planning within the office.
- →Represent the directorate on Agency forums.
- →Provide directorate-level insight, advocate needs, and ensure alignment between local project execution and agency-wide expectations Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, cost, and technical requirements while upholding safety and mission assurance standards.
Requirements
- ✓If you did not complete a qualifying bachelor's degree, you may be eligible if you have obtained a graduate degree in an AST qualifying field, as listed above.
- ✓Degrees in engineering technology are not considered qualifying for this position.
- ✓Engineering degrees earned within the United States: Engineering degrees earned within the United States must be from a college or university that has at least one ABET accredited engineering program.
