You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTANT in the U.S. Pacific Fleet (USPACFLT), Comptroller Directorate of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a subject matter expert for accounting and finance, independently resolving complex financial, operational, and reporting issues for the U.S.
- →Pacific Fleet.
- →You will plan, manage, and supervise the assigned organization, which consists of five GS- 0501-13's and one GS-0501-12 Financial Management Analysts.
- →You will provide both technical and administrative oversight.
- →You will direct all phases of accounting and financial management programs, utilizing in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, appropriation law, and financial systems.
- →You will plan, formulate, and develop accounting and financial policies and procedures to enhance the validity, accuracy, and integrity of accounting processes and financial reporting.
- →You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓(The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard.
- ✓Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") or Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.The applicant's background must also include one of the following: 1.
- ✓Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
- ✓This can include up to 6 hours of business law; 2.
- ✓A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or 3.
- ✓A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
