About the Role
This position is part of the Office of the Project Manager, Strategic Petroleum Reserve, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory Accountant, you will be responsible for providing technical direction, guidance, and advice to team members, other Division staff, stakeholders and executive management, on major decisions, recommendations and actions which have a direct and substantial effect on the overall financial operations of SPRO.

- →Veterans shape the future of energy As a Supervisory Accountant, you will: Direct the interpretation and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and reporting practices for Management and Operating (M&O) integrated contractor operations.
- →Oversee financial management system processes and ensures that robust internal controls are developed, maintained, and evaluated.
- →Partner with the Field Designated Financial Officer (DFO) to design, interpret, and recommend financial management and reporting policies for the division and contractors.
- →Serve as the primary division liaison to the Department of Energy (DOE) Chief Financial Officer's (CFO) office and provides technical guidance on cost accounting to senior leadership.
- →Manage and supervise the accounting team by assigning work, evaluating performance, administering employee relations, and supporting staff professional development.
- →Establish strategic goals, sets team priorities, plans long-range staffing needs, and executes employment decisions to support division operations.
