About the Role
The Financial Management Accounting Branch is responsible for the Bureau's accounting management policies, custodial revenue accounting, processing and managing a large volume of collection transactions, reconciling of general and subsidiary ledgers, processing various commercial payments daily, certifying disbursements and internal and external financial reporting requirements.
What You'll Do
- →The major duties of the Supervisory Accountant position include, but are not limited to, the following: Reviews, approves, and certifies accounting transactions and reconciliations to ensure proper documentation, accuracy, and adherence to internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- →Agent Cashier (Imprest Fund Management) - Coordinates with field offices, program staff, financial management personnel, and leadership to resolve discrepancies, obtain supporting documentation, and ensure timely submission of financial data.
- →Prepares and reviews reports, correspondence, and briefings related to accounting operations for management review and decision-making.
- →Assigns work, establishes priorities, and monitors workloads to ensure operational deadlines and performance standards are met; redistributes work as necessary to address changing priorities or staffing levels.
- →Supervises accounting operations staff responsible for accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, deposits, adjustments, and financial reporting, ensuring work is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal regulations and agency policy.
Requirements

- ✓Citizen or National Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959.

- ✓You must be a current permanent Department of Justice employee with competitive status or a CTAP/RPL eligible candidate.
