About the Role

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Chief Operating Officer (COO) administers the Director of National Intelligence (DNI's) vision & direction to the ODNI enterprise providing elite support services including synchronizing policy, plans, procedures, & cross-functional issues that enable the ODNI mission. COO oversees most ODNI business operations, including executive support, human resources, security, facilities, continuity, governance, policies, & information management.

What You'll Do

  • The Space Coordinator's role is to develop the plans, processes and procedures to enable ODNI to optimize the usable space in our buildings and develop plans, papers, and assessment tools to communicate those options to senior leadership.
  • Other major duties include: Contribute to the development of processes to monitor the dissemination of information, continually improving and maintaining suspense database systems; maintain records in compliance with regulations and sensitive compartmentation.
  • Space Planning and Design: Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit (or similar) software to create, revise, and maintain detailed floor plans, layouts, and 3D models for office, warehouse, or campus spaces.
  • Disseminate space planning information and guide the availability of usable space.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to assess space needs and propose optimized configurations.
  • Inventory and Allocation: Track and manage space inventory, including common areas, room assignments, furniture placement, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor current and projected occupancy rates and recommend reallocations to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. - Project Coordination: Lead space-related projects such as office relocations and expansions.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in line with organizational goals.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all space designs adhere to building codes, accessibility standards (e.g., ADA), and sustainability guidelines.
  • Prepare reports on space utilization metrics, forecasting future needs using data analysis tools.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for space-related inquiries from employees, department heads, and executives.
  • Facilitate move-ins, move-outs, and space audits to support business growth and operational needs.
  • Identify opportunities for space improvements, such as ergonomic enhancements or technology integrations, and implement changes using AutoCAD for precise visualizations.

Requirements

  • Must be a current permanent ODNI employee OR must be a current permanent Federal employee with supervisory approval to apply to the Joint Duty Assignment (JDA).
  • JDA applicants must be currently at the grade level specified in the advertisement.
  • No temporary promotion opportunities will be granted for this position.
  • The program does not apply to members of the Military service or contractors.
  • Joint Duty applicants may be considered for this position as a reimbursable detailee, if endorsed by the employing agency.
  • Joint Duty applicants must have a current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or have the ability to obtain one.
  • The ODNI does not conduct polygraphs or provide security clearances for detailees.
