About the Role

You will serve as a SENIOR ENGINEER (PLATFORM LEAD) in the SYSTEMS ENGINEERING BRANCH of NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 through GS-14.

What You'll Do

  • You will be responsible for managing the efficient and effective accomplishment of assigned projects, and delivery of products and services in a timely manner.
  • You will serve as the official point of contact for sponsors, customers, and supported commands for current execution, and is responsible for effective coordination and communication with all stakeholders.
  • You will identify supported command's project priorities and lead a team execution effort to ensure cost, schedule and performance commitments are met.
  • You will be responsible for timely and authoritative information concerning the status of and performance on projects within the employee's program area.
  • You will identify and develop business opportunities by formulating, evaluating, and identifying long-range and short-term options for generating new and expanded business income for the department and command.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
