This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Asset Marketing and Management, Capital Markets Operations and Sales of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The incumbent will provide support in the areas of identifying, analyzing, pricing, managing and liquidating complex capital market instruments, as well as in structuring and monitoring securitization transactions.
What You'll Do
- →Identifies, manages, prices, and analyzes complex capital market instruments prior to bank failure.
- →Analyzes call report data, other publicly available information, and confidential bank examination reports to identify the types of capital market instruments owned by the institution, and to develop preliminary resolution strategies.
- →Gathers legal and financial documents from failed bank records or from third-party public and non-public sources required for the analysis, valuation, management, and liquidation of any assets retained in a receivership.
- →Evaluates the rights and obligations of the issuers and holders and recommends a strategy for management and marketing of the instruments.
- →Serves as a technical expert on securities and securitization matters, ongoing receivership portfolio management, and liquidation issues pertaining to valuation, market, credit, and interest rate risks associated with the portfolio assets, setting reserve prices for potential liquidation activities; recommends responses to tender offers, corporate action voting, and restructuring/recapitalization.
- →Gathers documentation from failed bank records or from third-party public and non-public sources required for the analysis, valuation, management and liquidation of any assets retained in a receivership.
- →Participates in internal and external meetings with external third-party financial advisors and lawyers, including discussions regarding issues surrounding the management and liquidation of retained assets.
- →Develops and communicates technical and potentially sensitive information regarding securities issued by open banks both orally and in writing, to audiences within and outside the Division, including FDIC management, other banking regulators, and private sector executives.
