About the Role

This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), within the Directorate of Construction (DOC), located in Washington D.C. This position is inside the bargaining unit. The full performance level of this position is at the GS-12 grade level. This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office above.

What You'll Do

  • Major Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: GS-09: Assisting with research and development of written analyses of regulatory issues involving construction workplace safety.
  • Assisting with development of construction standards and related projects.
  • Assisting with development of written and oral briefing materials to support policy determinations.
  • Assisting with development of responses to questions from stakeholders and the public.
  • Attending public hearings, and trade conferences to obtain information related to construction safety.
  • GS-11: Conducting research and developing written analyses of regulatory issues involving construction workplace safety.
  • Developing construction safety standards and related policy.
  • Preparing written and oral presentations to support rulemaking and projects.
  • Providing technical regulatory guidance and assistance to construction industry stakeholders, governmental entities, and the public.
  • Providing technical assistance, program and policy recommendations, and guidance to OSHA National Office and field personnel.
  • As the employee progresses, the assignments will become more difficult and complex with less supervision.
