What You'll Do
- →WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Research Epidemiologist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Designing, planning and initiating epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations.
- →Participating in various aspects of the study or survey design process, including conducting a search or review of the existing literature and data in a specialty area.
- →Identifying and analyzing public health issues and their impact on public policies or epidemiological studies or surveys.
- →Providing advice and assistance in the development and implementation of procedures, methods and strategies for obtaining and using scientific data.
- →Authoring or coauthoring manuscripts or technical reports reflecting the results of the research and arranges for publication.
- →Presenting the results of research efforts in appropriate scientific journals or at scientific meetings.
- →Preparing comprehensive reports of national surveillance system analyses.
- →Initiating and maintaining contacts with epidemiologists, health scientists, engineers, physicians, statisticians and other research personnel in government agencies, academic institutions, and industry.
- →Assisting and providing guidance within the organization, and other DLOs within NIOSH, either directly or by instruction, concerning the research project.
