About the Role
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Women's Health/Gynecology Clinic provides evidence-based care to women Veterans, assists with gynecology procedures, supports education and quality improvement, and promotes safe transitions across the care continuum.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provide competent, evidence-based Women's Health care to assigned patients.
- →Oversee licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants in the clinic setting.
- →Identify healthcare interventions and actions to support patients' long-range goals.
- →Assist providers with routine gynecology procedures.
- →Participate in quality improvement activities for gynecology services.
- →Assist in directing nursing education, orientation, and competency processes.
- →Contribute to quality improvement and outcomes utilization efforts.
- →Direct other providers within scope of Women's Health practice.
- →Partner with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe transitions of care.
- →Integrate theoretical concepts, critical thinking, and technical skills in Women's Health situations.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
