Our Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) unit is committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and effective treatment and rehabilitation services. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our hard-working team and make a difference in the lives of our Veterans.
What You'll Do
- →The Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) Registered Nurse (RN) duties include, but are not limited to the following: Provides competent, evidence-based nursing care for patients with mental health and/or substance use conditions, ensuring all elements of the nursing process are followed.
- →Coordinates patient care across the continuum with emphasis on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction.
- →Facilitates shift reports, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psychoeducational groups using therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques.
- →Conducts urine drug screenings and breathalyzer testing in accordance with program requirements.
- →Ensures safe medication management practices, including patient education, monitoring, and compliance.
- →Participates actively in interdisciplinary treatment teams, patient safety rounds, and environment-of-care assessments.
- →Completes and documents nursing assessments, risk screenings, care plans, and safety/environmental checks according to policy.
- →Supports quality improvement initiatives, staff education, orientation, and competency development, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination/evaluation.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
