About the Role
The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for a Registered Nurse (Nurse Manager) - Patient Care Services. The Registered Nurse (Nurse Manager) will function within Medical Specialty Clinics.
What You'll Do
- →The Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager duties include but are not limited to: Designated first-line supervisory authority and is responsible and accountable for the operation of the Medical Specialty Clinics and for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and evaluation of individual staff performance.
- →Engages in professional organizations and committees throughout the VA healthcare system to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Promotes alliances across the care continuum, building trust through active listening, engagement, and emotional intelligence, while equipping staff with tools for competent care and promoting an environment of accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable patient care, while engaging in and promoting continuous process improvement in needs areas.
- →Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP) and provides peers with informal constructive feedback for improvement.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
