This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Milwaukee is located in southeastern Wisconsin, about 90 minutes from Chicago, IL and Madison, WI. What You'll Do
- →The incumbent will coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines.
- →Provide oversight of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit.
- →Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested.
- →Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
- →Provide safe and therapeutic care using the ICARE values inherent in our hospital culture.
- →As part of the ACRP RNs deliver professional nursing care to age-specific patients in Acute Care Inpatient Division, which includes a 30-bed Medical Oncology unit, a 11-bed Cardiac unit, a 17-bed medical surgical unit and a 30-bed medical surgical unit.
- →As a member of the ACRP, staff are afforded a unique opportunity to advance their career and expand their nursing skills by working in diverse environments.
- →The ACRP RN is used as an adjunct throughout the acute care areas to ensure each unit is adequately staffed to provide optimum nursing care to all patients.
- →This position includes weekend/holiday rotation requirements.
- →Staff are required to be on-call (on a rotating schedule) and therefore must be able to report to duty within a maximum of 60 minutes to meet the call-schedule requirement.
- →Telework: Not available.
- →Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
