About the Role
The Marion VA Health Care System is expanding inpatient acute care services and seeks a highly motivated Registered Nurse to serve as an Assistant Nurse Manger (ANM) in the Inpatient Medical/Surgical Unit within Nursing Services located in Marion, IL. The ANM and the Nurse Manager are a high functioning team, working cohesively to create a positive work environment which enhances care delivered by nursing and other allied health care staff within the Marion VA Inpatient M/S Unit.
What You'll Do
- →The ANM, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, functions as a supervisor and assumes accountability for the 24/7 operation of the department.
- →The ANM will serve as the acting Nurse Manager during his/her absence.
- →If selected, Applicants will provide proof of current certifications prior to employment.
- →Only BLS certification which included Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ACLS certification obtained from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Military Treatment Training Network (MTN) will be accepted.
- →Telework: Ad-hoc only as needed to meet the needs of the department at the Supervisor's discretion.
- →Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized.
- →Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
