The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) serves as the IT hub of the U.S. Department of Labor. We develop, maintain and protect IT solutions and data across our 27 agencies to enable mission outcomes through technology and service. What You'll Do

- →Final salary will be determined based on the selectee's assigned duty station in accordance with applicable locality pay tables.
- →The primary purpose of the position is to is to provide IT analysis to assess user needs and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions that enhance the Department of Labor's operations.
- →Major duties include but are not limited to the following: Participate in meetings and interviews with customers to understand their operational needs, conducting Tier 1 troubleshooting and providing remedies for common issues.
- →Identify and resolve typical user problems, escalating more complex issues as necessary.
- →Support the development of user interface elements, workflows, and application layouts by contributing research and draft designs and providing user feedback summaries.
- →Help identify and document customer requirements needed to update existing applications or support the development of new solutions.
- →Provide technical support to higher-graded IT Specialists in activities related to the planning, installation, maintenance, and management of networked systems.
- →Assist in site planning and installation activities for computer and communications equipment, helping with tasks related to hardware cabling, server setup, and security requirements.
- →Prepare and update required data inputs for established databases.
Requirements
- ✓To be eligible for an appointment, you must meet requirement A or B.
- ✓Completed all requirements for a diploma, associate, bachelor, master, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution or career or technical education program (including registered Apprenticeship Programs, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Job Corps, Climate Corps) within the previous two years; OR B.
- ✓If your education was completed at a foreign college or university, you must show comparability to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States and comparability to applicable minimum coursework requirements for this position.
