About the Role
As a Project Management Branch Chief, you will provide expert professional and/or technical consulting and services surrounding major, complex programs managed and/or facilitated by Office of Program & Project Management (OPPM). Location of position: GSA - Public Building Services (PBS) - Office of Program and Project Management (PX) We are currently filling seven vacancies, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
What You'll Do
- →Directly leads and manages the execution of projects through the supervision of a staff of project managers.
- →To accomplish this task the incumbent will coordinate with staff responsible for managing programs and projects within scope.
- →Develops and directs the analysis and evaluation of high level complex projects and activities in terms of operational procedures, organization, work flow and overall effectiveness.
- →Resolves disputes that arise and develops and executes non-routine, complex procedures to improve program execution, organization of project teams, and arrangements.
- →Serves as an expert in the areas of Branch activities and/or high level projects and other work required for effective program management, tracking and overall exercises responsibility for related projects and/or services that involve substantive interaction with other stakeholders and partners in the facilitation of high level Office of Program and Project Management programs and services.
- →Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of Branch employees.
Requirements
- ✓If selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
- ✓If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or NonCareer SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office.
- ✓Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service.
- ✓Serve a one year probationary period, if required.
- ✓Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level).
- ✓Serve a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period, if required.
- ✓Note: If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education.
