The Work Study Coordinator (WSC) for the Regional Processing Office (RPO) makes eligibility determinations and processes Work-Study claims for all education benefit programs and Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation for a multi-state jurisdiction. He/she ensures the efficiency of the Work-Study program.
What You'll Do
- →Main Duties: Provides information on application procedures and eligibility criteria to prospective Work-Study applicants.
- →Approves the Work-Study employment sites and Position Descriptions.
- →Reviews Work-Study applications and contracts for approval or denial.
- →Prepares and issues Work-Study contracts and extension agreements based on enrollment periods and eligibility.
- →Assists in cultivating Work-Study opportunities within Veterans Benefit Administration, Veteran Health Administration, the National Cemetery Administration and appropriate non-VA organizations.
- →Acts as a liaison for the RPO with school officials and worksite supervisors.
- →Reviews, verifies, and re-computes time records submitted for appropriate payment.
- →Initiates development and maintains control of Work-Study claims.
- →Processes and/or authorizes payments for Work-Study hours.
- →Approves or disapproves continuation of Work-Study contracts in the event of reductions to less than 3⁄4 time training.
- →Maintains the record systems for the Work-Study program.
- →Conducts interviews in person and by telephone.
- →Reviews agreement adjustments, including terminations, to determine compliance with the original contract.
- →Coordinates adjustments in payments to include creation of overpayments where appropriate.
Requirements
