About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the oversight of a Congressionally-appropriated project with a portfolio of STEM engagement opportunities for students and institutions across the country. You will devise, revise, and monitor the implementation of STEM engagement activities that align with the direction of Congress, NASA, and NASA's Office of STEM Engagement. You will lead a skilled team of civil servants and contractors while working in a matrixed environment.
What You'll Do
- →Develops and/or maintains activities to support the strategic direction of NASA and the Office of STEM Engagement.
- →Develops and manages the budget and operating plans for a Congressionally-mandated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) engagement project.
- →Resolves, or advises senior leadership on the resolution of, a range of operational and/or strategic issues which may range from recurring through complex and unprecedented.
- →Serves as subject matter expert on the assigned STEM engagement project and effectively engages with stakeholders.
- →Provides direction to a team of civil servants and contractors to support effective project implementation while working effectively in a matrixed organization.
- →Measures progress toward project goals, and implements changes or interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
- →Works collaboratively with NASA Office of STEM Engagement leadership, Strategic Operations team, and other internal NASA partners to support project success and meet collective NASA STEM engagement goals.
