About the Role

This position serves as a Program Analyst administering correspondence and operations issues, reviewing inquiries received by various communications/media (e.g., letter, telephone) to determine the proper disposition of inquiries and reviewing, evaluating, and solving related problems and conducting analyses of issues related to program segment healthcare administrative functions.

What You'll Do

  • Uses data systems to structure, review, and present accurate, relevant information to management for use in decision-making processes.
  • Performs ongoing data validation, applying qualitative techniques (i.e. in-depth interviews, direct observations, and focus groups) to analyze and measure the reliability and variability of clinical, administrative, and operational/technical data.
  • Conducts ongoing reviews of resource/cost, clinical, and workload data to ensure information is accurate and usable for management decision-making purposes.
  • Researches, adapts, and applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to evaluate, analyze, and improve program segment operational effectiveness, efficiency, and work products.
  • Applies problem-solving techniques, work methods, practices, and procedures to identify parameters of viable solutions to problems encountered.
  • Identifies, schedules, and completes ad hoc studies and analyses of program segment operational activities that may present problems for or be of interest to management.
  • Provides findings and/or responses in writing using approved/required Program Office and/or employing organization formats.
  • Develops responses to information requests/correspondence from military services, Congress, other Agency organizations, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations regarding reimbursement and policy issues.
  • Provides detailed information by developing and presenting oral and/or written reports to share information with management decision-makers and makes specific recommendations to improve/enhance efficiency in operations, services, and/or cost effectiveness of initiatives reviewed.
  • Provides requested information to management and other staff on a variety of unique cost and workload issues and provides coordination/support as needed.
  • Monitors/tracks assignments to ensure timely, accurate responses and accountability, making ongoing adjustments in accordance with established, assigned priorities and standards.
  • Attends and represents the employing organization at meetings (e.g., briefings related to fee programs, hearings, public forums, etc.) regarding justification and approval of specific procedures related to program segment operations.
