About the Role

The incumbent functions as a key advisor to Martinsburg VA Medical Center leadership on VERA-driven resource management and workload forecasting. This role supports strategic operations at the Martinsburg VAMC, a category 1C highly affiliated medical center. The incumbent is responsible to monitor the Veterans Equitable Resources Allocation processes, hospital workload and perform necessary actions to ensure the medical center receives maximum patient reimbursement.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible to establish a facility-wide management information system to ensure the medical center captures all of its cost and workload.
  • Provide the information in a format that is useful to the facility executive leadership and various councils for evaluating resources utilization and VERA performance at the medica center.
  • Provides guidance in the implementation, management and evaluation of VERA oversight programs.
  • Creates recommends, and monitors the implementation of program standards and criteria.
  • Develops databases that support benchmarking of data including financial data, patient populations and workload that allows for broad-based and narrowly defined reviews, and integrated analysis of clinical and administrative systems.
  • Coordinates and disseminated data, special projects, etc. relevant to his/her program responsibilities with medical center staff for review and/or action and assures activities requiring response are accomplished.
  • Plans, develops and conducts formal and informal training programs, conferences, etc. relevant to the VERA process; workload/cost reporting, data validating/certification.
  • Conducts surveys or reviews of all clinical and administrative services, as requested evaluate resource utilization, workload/cost reporting, data validation activities, etc. and provide written reports on findings along with recommendations for improving program activities.
  • Serves as a technical advisor/resources to facility management staff pertinent to program responsibilities, assuring data and information are effectively communicated.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00AM - 4:30PM Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
