About the Role

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Under Secretary for Management, Office of the Chief Readiness Support Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Program Analyst (Regional Coordinator) and is the principal OCRSO regional representative to Component and other agency leaders on a variety of operational and mission support issues. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

  • Great Lakes Region: Chicago (IL), Indianapolis (IN), Louisville (KY), Detroit (MI), Columbus (OH), Cleveland (OH), Nashville (TN), Milwaukee (WI).
  • Heartland Region: Denver (CO), Little Rock (AR), Des Moines (IA), Kansas City (MO/KS), Minneapolis (MN), Omaha (NE), Albuquerque (NM), Fargo (ND), Oklahoma City (OK), Sioux Falls (SD), Salt Lake City (UT), Cheyenne (WY).
  • Southwest Region: New Orleans (LA), Baton Rouge (LA), Jackson (MS), Houston (TX), Dallas (TX), Austin (TX), San Antonio (TX), El Paso (TX).
  • As a Program Analyst (Regional Coordinator), GS-0343-15, your typical work assignments may include: Serve as subject-matter expert on DHS-wide integration programs and initiatives, providing advice and consultation to DHS leaders, other Federal agencies, and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Plans, organizes, and leads analytical studies involving the planning, development, and implementation of mission support related field efficiency program initiatives of national scope and impact.
  • Formulates and recommends plans to improve program policies, practices, methods, and organizational structure.
  • Develops, coordinates, and implements strategic plans to include mission, goals, objectives, and implementation strategies.
  • Set performance targets and resolve differences where required.
  • Researches, analyzes, and provides expert technical advice and assistance on complex program issues.
