About the Role
THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Security Forces Squadron (SFS), East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to the 103d SFS of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members, assigned to the 103d SFS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →This is an indefinite position.
- →JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to perform law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect, and assists local, state, or federal law enforcement in investigations, arrests and/or detention, or apprehension, and perform patrols within the assigned jurisdictions.
- →These duties must be coordinated with local law enforcement.
- →NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- →This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
- →The major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions: Incumbent may full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within assigned jurisdiction.
- →Conducts Investigations/Surveillance: Conducts investigations of crimes and complaints covering a wide range of subjects and allegations that are not within the scope of Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) or the scope of the higher-level detectives assigned to the Squadron.
- →Performs as Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) Controller: Serves as the primary command and control (C2) function for all Integrated Defense forces.
- →Performs emergency response and incident command and control: Acts as the initial on scene commander for significant and catastrophic events (e.g., active shooter, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters) and initiates Air Force Incident Management System (AFIMS).
- →Patrols the installation on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances; and investigates the incidents.
