About the Role
The Vascular Surgery Department staff surgeon routinely performs outpatient and inpatient vascular examinations, determines diagnoses, and initiates treatments that emphasize education. The staff Surgeon serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees. Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) has an established residency program with Vanderbilt University Medical Center Residents, as well as Podiatry Residency program who rotate through the Vascular Surgery Department,
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →Perform peripheral vascular, endovascular and intraoperative vascular imaging procedures and interpret vascular lab studies.
- →Conduct inpatient rounds, surgeries, and clinic services and provide resident supervision as needed and required.
- →Providing patients with education concerning their disease state and expected treatment regimen.
- →Supervise technicians during vascular lab performance, as needed or as required.
- →Provides the customers with consistent information according to established policies and procedures.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours are based on needs of the service
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
