About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000)& eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →This is an Open Continuous Announcement and may be extended beyond the current closing date until the position is filled.

- →Performs diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower endoscopy (including but not limited to EGD, colonoscopy, polypectomy, hemostasis, and dilation) and participates in advanced procedures as privileged (such as ERCP, EUS, and enteral stent or feeding tube placement), with appropriate pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure follow-up.
- →Serves as a core clinical resource to the facility's Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Liver Disease programs, contributing expertise to quality improvement initiatives, colorectal cancer screening and surveillance efforts, and evidence-based management of cirrhosis and portal hypertension.
- →Patient and family education about GI liver diseases, procedures, and treatment plans.
- →Timely completion of electronic medical record documentation, including consult notes, procedure reports, and communication of test results Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
- →Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
