About the Role

The Nonconnah Boulevard VA Clinic, Memphis, TN is recruiting for a Psychiatrist to serve as a full-time Mental Health Physician.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: The psychiatrist will perform evaluations, diagnosis(es), treatments, and preventions of mental health disorders.
- →Perform comprehensive examinations and assessments, determining diagnosis(es), and completing medical work-ups.
- →Develop and implement treatment plans, referring to other specialties or appropriate community resources.
- →Provide appropriate clinical documentation of patient care in the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) in a timely manner.
- →Training regarding the use of CPRS will be provided by the VAMC.
- →All documentation shall be completed in accordance with VA policy and procedures.
- →Ensure accreditation requirements are met for all applicable survey and inspection processes to include, but are not limited to compliance with JCHACO, CARF, and OIG.
- →Follow all VA guidelines regarding infection control and safety.
- →Adhere to all quality performance measures.
- →Provide examinations/reviews as assigned to support Mental Health services.
- →Collaborate with approved fee-based community Mental Health inpatient programs to assist/coordinate discharge planning, medication and follow-up appointments, as well as, coordinating with ambulatory care services, as appropriate.
- →May participate in supervision of residents and medical students assigned to Outpatient Psychiatry and/or Emergency Department.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
