About the Role
The Physician will manage patients with ongoing medical conditions as an inpatient, in collaboration with other services of the CGVAMC. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive May Be Authorized for Highly Qualified Applicants. This is an Open-Continuous announcement that will remain open until the position is filled. What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →Duties include but are not limited to the following: Current BLS required / ACLS desirable Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care.
- →Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care.
- →APP coordination within the Hospitalist section.
- →Procedural skills may include: Arterial puncture, EKG interpretation, Arthrocentesis, Foley catheter insertion, Abdominal paracentesis Venipuncture, Nasogastric tube insertion, Lumbar puncture, Thoracentesis Intra-arterial line & central venous line placement Endotracheal intubation Shares after-hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation.
- →Consulting on inpatient care.
- →Collaboration with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation Performs the administrative components of patient care management: Participate in educational programs for section personnel as well as the medical staff.
- →Participate in monitoring the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care at both the Section and facility levels.
- →Engage in miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service, inclusive of special projects that enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- →Attend Hospitalist team meetings.
- →Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model at all organizational levels.
- →Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews.
- →Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and Chief of Staff (COS) quarterly meetings as per bylaws.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
