Physician (Gynecologist)

About the Role
Greater Los Angeles Health Care System (GLA) seeks a full-time board eligible or board certified physician for the Division of Gynecology. Candidates will be expected to see patients in the clinic, perform general gynecology and gynecologic surgery operations, and take call. Surgical expertise required includes perioperative and operative gynecology care, clinic coverage and outpatient procedures.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →In the outpatient setting, procedures include (but are not limited to): pap smear, colposcopy, cervical/vaginal biopsy, implant placement (IUD, etonogestrel implant), endometrial biopsy, case consultation.
- →Will provide surgical consultation to patients in both telehealth and in-person settings.
- →Document patients' symptoms, order diagnostic testing, follow up with laboratory results, and discuss/recommend treatment options to patients.
- →Serve as a member of medical staff to provide advisory and consultative services on various meetings, committees, conferences and/or boards.
- →Coordinate care of Veterans with facility and community resources.
- →Participate in clinical call consistent with assigned clinical hours Will see Veterans at different clinical sites including (but not limited to): West Los Angeles, Sepulveda, Downtown Los Angeles Responsible for the education and evaluation of medical students, residents, and fellows within the service.
- →Candidates should have minimally invasive fellowship training (minimally invasive gynecology surgery, urogynecology, gynecology oncology).
- →Work Schedule: To be determined based on the needs of patient care.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
