About the Role
Physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of invasive, non-invasive, consultative, and inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology patient care at the CGVAMC. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized for Highly Qualified Applicants. This is an Open-Continuous announcement that will remain open until the position is filled. What You'll Do

- →Duties include but are not limited to the following: The incumbent physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of invasive, non-invasive, consultative, and inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology patient care at the CGVAMC, Asheville, NC.
- →The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Gastroenterology section assuring the most effective delivery of care in services within Medical Service.
- →Operates or directs the operation of diagnostic equipment for medical procedures which includes: Current BLS/ACLS required Moderate Sedation Privileges and certification required Fluoroscopy privileges and certification Upper Endoscopy Lower Endoscopy Paracentesis ERCP Manometry desirable but not required Consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care, including Hepatitis C therapies.
- →Collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation.
- →Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as: Participate in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as the medical staff.
- →Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level.
- →Education Debt Reduction Program: EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
- →You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
- →Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
- →Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
- →Remote: This is not a remote position Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm - Monday - Friday (Full-time)
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
