About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →**This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until July 13th, 2026.
- →The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be May 19th, 2026, with subsequent cut-off dates every 2 weeks.

- →Provider is expected to document into CPRS in a timely manner the clinical work performed, participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and participate in usual Medical Staff activity including committee and development of gastroenterology related projects and service.
- →Administrative duties are general oversight of the operations of the Gastroenterology Department including but not limited to providing and overseeing the scheduling of clinic and procedures, assigning and assuring that all scheduled rotations are covered, and planning for efficient patient management and other usual daily clinic activity.
- →Provider is expected to maintain Joint Commission readiness.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M., No on-call or weekend coverage.
- →Work schedule is subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center.
- →Full time or part time rotation at different sites will depend on arrangement/negotiation with the section chief and approved by service chief.
- →The major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide independent care delivery for patients with general gastroenterology problems and subspecialty care depending on the provider's special expertise.
- →Major function of the position includes Health risk Assessment, goal setting for prevention, and chronic diseases management.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
