About the Role
Pharmacy Supervisor role is responsible for the professional and administrative management of clinical pharmacy services within the Ambulatory Care section. This will include personnel, clinical pharmacy programs, scheduling, compliance with policies/procedures, and budgetary execution related to these areas. Such individuals have responsibilities for supervising multiple pharmacists.
What You'll Do
- →The Birmingham, AL VA healthcare System is recruiting for a Pharmacy Supervisor in Birmingham, AL.
- →The Supervisor will be responsible for the professional and administrative management of clinical pharmacy services within the Ambulatory Care section.
- →This supervisor will be responsible for but not limited to the PACT clinical pharmacy program.
- →This will include personnel, clinical pharmacy programs (including pharmacy student and resident training), prescription processing, coordination with the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy, scheduling, compliance with policies/procedures, and budgetary execution related to these areas.
- →Such individuals have responsibilities for supervising multiple pharmacists.
- →Manages people, maintains effective interdepartmental relations, and cooperates with other services to accomplish the medical facility's mission and goals.
- →Develops performance standards, assures that the program area is compliant with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements, designs and implements orientation and training programs for staff, and develops and maintains systems to monitor the performance of staff activities.
- →Develops policies and procedures relative to their assigned area.

- →Functional Statement #: 61528F Supervisory Functions: Responsible for the day-to day operations of the clinical pharmacy services within the Ambulatory Care Section.
- →Serve as Acting Associate Chief, Ambulatory Care Clinical Services or other pharmacy supervisors when requested.
- →Plan, organize, assign, and review work of subordinates; this includes scheduling of priorities and personnel for the effective completion of pharmacy programs objectives.
- →Conduct on-going and annual performance evaluation of subordinates.
- →Counsel employees on performance when necessary and/or recognize high level performance as appropriate.Provide advice, counsel, or instructions to subordinate employees on both work and administrative matters.
