The primary purpose of this position PATTERNMAKER, WG-4616-11 potential WG-4616-14, is to plan, design, layout, construct, alter, and repair complex molds, patterns, and core boxes from wood, composite, and other non-metallic substances that are used by plastic, foundry, and sheet metal fabrication facilities in the manufacture or repair of aircraft parts and equipment.
What You'll Do
- →Independently plan, execute, manufacture, repair, and modify three-dimensional patterns and molds.
- →Visualize and plan for the type of patterns or molds that will be the most efficient and economical.
- →Perform machine operation and bench work using precision tools such as saws, lathes, sanders, drills, planers, grinders, drill presses, shears and brakes, borers, routers, jointers, shapers, and mills.
- →Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
