This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Field Operations - Region VIII in Sioux Falls, SD. The incumbent provides oversight of SBA program grantees and Resource Partners to include compliance reviews, site visits, and other monitoring activities, and the work involves extensive planning and knowledge, and decision making on the full spectrum of complexities found in OMS support functions.
What You'll Do
- →Outreach - Participate in or lead projects to accomplish outreach events and will be expected to collaborate with others on the team and other resources to ensure that the projects are successful.
- →Compliance - Field technical representative responsible for compliance oversight of SBA district office customers.
- →Conduct program evaluations, monitors and assesses awardee performance, ensures that grantees comply with terms and conditions of award, and reviews financial reports in accordance with associated SOP guidance.
- →Oral Communication - Represent the SBA at a variety of public functions through outreach/presentations/trainings in order to educate the small business, lender and contracting community about SBA programs and services, and other small business-relevant topics.
- →Media Relations & Communications - Promotes and/or develops new releases, SBA featured story ideas and Op-Eds for the Media.
- →Produce feature stories for the media on successful businesses that have received SBA assistance including official SBA Success Stories and other stories which are pitched to the media that reflect the current trends and developments at SBA programs and services (such as but not limited to SBA loan volume trends and special initiatives).
- →Act as the region point of contact for disaster media coverage and will distribute disaster press releases as requested by the Office of Disaster Assistance or OCPL.
- →Serves as a media communication liaison by coordinating media inquiries, drafting talking points and public-facing materials, supporting leadership engagement, monitoring media coverage, and ensuring all communication is accurate, timely, and cleared through appropriate agency channels.
- →Other Local Marketing Duties - To be determined by the District Director or designee.
