About the Role
OIG is organized into six operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, and Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

- →Remote work may be considered if a qualified candidate is not within the local commuting area of any duty station listed above.

- →As a Nurse, you will: Assist the project leader in a broad range of Quality Management (QM) and health care program inspections and evaluations.
- →Plan, coordinate, and/or conduct extensive pre-inspection clinical research, and provide appropriate guidance to non-clinical team members where such is needed.
- →Identify existing information sources from which to obtain a sufficient data base to facilitate the team's understanding of the clinical process or outcome to be inspected or evaluated and to identify possible clinical issues that require further development.
- →Plans and schedule project briefings and training sessions for all project participants.
- →He/she will provide comprehensive clinically-based briefings including pertinent legislative and regulatory information, the perceived or actual status of the review entity, the effectiveness of internal control systems, and the existence and magnitude of any QM/clinical program problems.
