About the Role
The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Wichita, Kansas is currently recruiting for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
What You'll Do
- →The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) serves as a member of the cardiology team.
- →Primary duties include, but are not limited to: Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures.
- →Analyze, process, and store patient study data for assigned rotations.
- →Operate gamma camera systems and conduct radionuclide imaging procedures.
- →Perform all required quality control checks throughout each phase of radionuclide imaging.
- →Troubleshoot clinical, technical, and instrumentation issues as they arise.
- →Ensure compliance with all radiation safety regulations and protocols.
- →Administer radiopharmaceuticals proficiently and safely.- Perform routine and specialty imaging procedures, including in-vitro laboratory testing.
- →Assist the Radiation Safety Officer with surveys, recordkeeping, and radioisotope receipt and disposal.
- →Conduct functional studies of organs and systems using static, dynamic, SPECT, PET, and fusion imaging techniques.
- →Perform advanced therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures.
- →Function independently at an advanced level, handling complex imaging, therapeutic procedures, clinical instruction, and quality management tasks.
- →Develop and refine imaging protocols to improve diagnostic quality and workflow.
- →Monitor and analyze radiation exposure levels and implement exposure-reduction strategies.
