About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as Medical Records Technician (MRT), functioning primarily as an inpatient/ outpatient records coder.
- →Assigns specific codes to medical records, sequencing and determining codes to accurately reflect the resources and procedures used in the care of the patients.
- →Ensures compliance with regulatory and third-party insurance requirements in utilizing the ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS LEVEL II coding books.
- →Assures accurate coding of diseases, injuries, manifestations, operations, and nonsurgical procedures, both complicated and uncomplicated, in accordance with established guidelines and coding principles.
- →Performs quantitative analysis and checks medical record for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- →Performs research and coordination to correct inconsistencies or discrepancies in the documentation gathers and compiles various data and produces reports as needed.
