About the Position: This position is located within Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Perform difficult and complex ultrasound examinations.
- →Receive and reviews request from physicians and other healthcare providers for ultrasound examinations of patients in the automated information system.
- →Explain procedures, position patient and actions to allay fears and secure maximum cooperation.
- →Conduct examination, adjusting technical factors and sonographic parameters to optimize image quality to best present the medically significant aspects found.
- →Perform pre-procedure and post-procedure ultrasound examinations such as fine needle aspiration and/or biopsy.
- →Operate the hospital information system or other current electronic health care record system to act upon patient orders.
- →Conduct hands-on training and technical oversight of other technicians.
