This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Provides direct surgical support to patients undergoing surgery including the newest and most complex, state-of-the-art procedures in multi-specialties in the Main Operating Room at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center.
What You'll Do
- →Provides direct surgical support of a highly specialized nature to patients undergoing surgery including the newest and most complex, state-of-the-art procedures in multi-specialties.
- →Organizes required supplies (setup, connect, test, operate drills, saws, etc.) and instruments for surgical procedures.
- →Pass instruments and equipment to the surgeon during surgical procedures.
- →Ensures the availability of equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- →Obtains sterile supplies, equipment, positioning devices, instrumentation, sutures, sponges, dressing, linens, etc., for specific procedures.
- →Performs sponge, needle and sharps count during various periods of all surgical procedures.
- →Assists in positioning of patients for procedures Check patient's chart for surgical consent.
- →Ensures the patient has been correctly prepared for surgery.
- →Checks identification bands for completeness.
