About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

  • The DP ARC independently provides clinical assessment, treatment, psychiatric rehabilitation, and other appropriate mental health services at the advanced practice level to Veterans and their family members as assigned.
  • FUNCTION OR SCOPE OF ASSIGNED DUTIES Management Duties: 1.
  • Promoting Recovery: The DP ARC is responsible for ensuring that the staff of PARC adheres to the principles and practices of the recovery-driven mental health services.
  • The DP ARC ensures that staff are trained in evidence-based recovery services and promote staff's implementation of these services within PARC. 2.
  • Regulatory Standards: Acute Care Division Leadership and DP ARC ensures that program services meet accreditation requirements and are compliant with regulatory and accountability standards such as those set forth by CARF, the Joint Commission, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), and VA Central Office (VACO). 3.
  • Design, Implementation, and Evaluation Procedures: The DPARC is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of PARC consistent with evidence-based best practices in mental health.
  • Specifically, the DP ARC will oversee the development of program activities, services, record-keeping, schedules, policies, evaluation procedures, marketing brochures, educational resources, etc.
  • The incumbent initiates goals and strategic plans and monitors progress towards these ends.
  • The DP ARC serves as the leader of PARC and convenes staff meetings and other meetings to promote effective functioning of PARC. 4.
  • Maintaining Relationships: The DPARC is responsible for marketing PARC to other programs, departments, and stakeholders and develops/maintains relationships with service line and supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
  • Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.

  • Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued dentification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • You may be required to serve a probationary period.
