The Medical Instrument Technician (MIT), under the supervision of the Supervisory Medical Instrument Technician (Polysomnography) under the Director, BVAMC Sleep Disorders Center, displays proficiency and performs at a level of excellence in all Sleep diagnostic and treatment procedures and other related procedures in accordance with the guidelines and protocols established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, BVAMC Sleep Disorders Center and procedures of the Birmingham VA Hospital.
What You'll Do
- →MIT polysomnography functions are to score sleep studies as needed, plans, directs and coordinates patient care related to the in-lab and home sleep test (HST) and integrates the polysomnographic date into patient care by coordinating care with other functional areas of the Sleep Center, such as CPAC clinic and Sleep Clinics.
- →The MIT displays proficiency and performs at a level of excellence in all sleep diagnostic procedures and other related procedures in accordance with the guidelines established by the American Sleep Disorders Association, American Academy of Sleep and policies and procedures of the Birmingham VA Medical Center.
- →The MIT plans and carries out the procedures necessary to complete the work assignment, handles problems and corrects errors in accordance with established protocols or accepted laboratory practices.
- →Work Schedule: 6:30 pm -7:00 am/7:00pm - 6:30am Functional Statement #: FS 521-58 Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized
