  • The Office of Manufactured Housing Programs (OMHP) is located within the Office of Housing and has a mission to protect, preserve, and promote the quality, durability, safety, and affordability of manufactured homes throughout the United States.
  • OMHP protects the health and safety of manufactured home residents through the enforcement of the federal manufactured home construction and safety standards, installation standards, and the administration of dispute resolution between manufacturers, retailers, and installers.
  • As a Manufactured Housing Prog Pol Spec, you will: Perform a variety of professional and technical duties as it relates to manufactured housing programs, regulations and statutory requirements and program support operations.
  • Provide manufactured housing program support and assistance in the analysis and development of policy, legislation and research for manufactured housing programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate and provide leadership, coordination technical advice, guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures for manufactured housing programs and monitoring, compliance, and inspection requirements for Headquarters, field office staff and affected members of the general public.
  • Monitor and evaluate agency operations to ensure that policies and standards are maintained, up-to-date and ensure compliance with respective guidance and procedures.
  • Interpret statutory requirements, administrative policies, as well as procedures and methods of program analyses and translate them into instructions for the federal program, state agencies, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

  • The official duty station for this position will be in Alexandria, Virginia.
  • Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
  • Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
  • Citizen or U.S.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
  • Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
  • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
