About the Role

The Senior Analyst acts as a consultant and advisor to OSI Executive Director and Deputy Director on the development and implementation of Department-wide policies and programs impacting the VA's mission and internal management and operations. Specifically, the incumbent serves as the primary driver of VA's evidence-building and evaluation activities, conducting forward-thinking planning to address long-range issues, and identifying and mitigating emergent challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Major duties include but not limited to: Develop data visualization/presentations using various multimedia technologies.
  • Participate in risk analyses, and ensures planning products address or mitigate identified long term risks.
  • Conduct mandated biannual Strategic Reviews which report on the Department's progress towards the VA Strategic Plan.
  • Provide strategic value by integrating projects, aligning with enterprise goals, and managing risk and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provides guidance in the development and implementation of strategic planning products.
  • Manage planning activities that may include short or multi year work plans from products of subordinate organizational projects/programs.
  • Develop detailed plans, tasks, milestone dates and schedules to ensure proper sequencing of events and tracking of processes and costs throughout the life cycle of the programs/projects.
  • Draft recommendations for program officials and supervisors with viable recommendations to include the development of modified work methods, procedural changes, and system or program variations.
  • Develop enterprise level goals, strategic objectives, strategies and enterprise measures, derived from analyses, and documented in the Department's Strategic Plan, Agency Priority Goals, or applicable VA policies and directives.
  • Gather and organize narrative and statistical information using established methods, techniques, and precedents such as questionnaires, interviews, review of databases, and comparisons of past, present, and related administrative functions.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Yes, may be available.
  • Telework: Ad-Hoc telework as determined by agency policy.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S.

  • There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
