About the Role

This position is located in Department of Labor (DOL), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Investigations (OI). This position is responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and/or improving the efficiency of internal administrative operations, organizations, or management; planning, analyzing, and/or evaluating the effectiveness of line or operating programs.

What You'll Do

  • Assists senior staff in managing and preparing a wide variety of documents for studies and analyses and making recommendations on administrative and management issues within.
  • Works directly with the Office of Investigations (OI) leadership to ensure all personnel, procurement, travel, and timekeeping functions are operated seamlessly.
  • Assists staff with time and attendance (T&A) issues and resolves problems.
  • Prepares and assists staff in preparing travel authorizations and travel vouchers.
  • Prepares and initiates Ol's purchase requisitions.
  • Works closely with the leadership and OIG Human Resources Management Division in assisting with recruitments.
  • Assist with any onboarding requirements.
  • Assists in the completion of multiple reports including human resources/financial planning; statistical accomplishments for Inspector General semiannual reporting.
  • Assist in the gathering, analyzing and distribution of performance metrics.
  • Organizes and maintains the Assistant Inspector General for Ol's electronic correspondence log, organizes and manages Ol's mailboxes, and updates mailbox addresses as needed.
  • Updates Ol's staff telephone listing and staff calendar; gathers and compiles staff entries; routes and distributes management reports.
  • Participates in the preparation of documentation for new or modified policy; participates in managing the systems for generation of reports; provides technical assistance to staff and management on systems; distributes reports and correspondence to management team.
  • Responsible for Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties, such as technical monitoring, acceptance/rejection of deliverables, surveillance and inspection, issue identification and escalation, invoice review, documentation, compliance oversight and/or coordination with contracting officer and requiring activity.

Requirements

  • There is no substitution of education for the required specialized experience at the GS-13 level.
