About the Role

As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement. This position serves as a Management and Program Analyst (Project Manager) in the Legal Programs Office of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA). The incumbent is responsible for analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency with which Legal Programs carries out the Victim Notification System (VNS) function and services.

What You'll Do

  • Legal Programs coordinates all aspects of these programs, including training, funding, legislation, administration, outreach, and programmatic assessment.
  • Legal Programs also develops and promotes policies and procedures to improve the effectiveness of these programs and serves as a resource for the United States Attorneys' offices (USAOs) on legal and administrative issues affecting the programs.
  • In addition, Legal Programs provides advice and support for various subcommittees and working groups of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys.
  • General duties include: Identifies and analyzes issues, problems, and challenges facing Victim Notification System (VNS); formulates and evaluates possible courses of action for resolving challenges; draws conclusions based on relevant facts; and recommends solutions to management.
  • Develops, selects, adapts, and employs qualitative and quantitative methods, procedures, and systems for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the structure of VNS; management policies, practices, and procedures; and administrative operations, processes, and mechanisms.
  • Evaluates program requirements and information required to assess practices and develop recommendations to improve information reporting systems.
  • Advises managers and program officials on VNS management or policies and procedures.
  • Carries out projects related to VNS that involve working with other EOUSA staffs and leadership, other DOJ components and leadership, and the USAOs.
  • Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as experience progresses.
