The incumbent of this position serves as a Maintenance Mechanic Leader, WL-4749-10 within the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) section in the Facilities Management Service (FMS) at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS). The Veterans Affairs Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) is a Level 1c facility and ranks among a complex system in the VA serving the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21).
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Passes on instructions received from a supervisor to other workers and gets the job started.
- →Works along with other employees and sets the pace for the task.
- →Demonstrates proper work methods.
- →Assures that needed plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available.
- →Obtains needed information or decisions from supervisors on problems that arise while performing the work.
- →Maintains a current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, and written instructions such as work orders.
- →Distributes portions of the work in such a manner to keep everyone in the work crew productive.
- →Checks work while in progress, and when finished, to insure meeting the supervisors' requirements on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines.
- →Urges or advises other employees to follow instructions received from supervisor.
- →Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed.
- →Informs the supervisor on the status and progress of work.
- →Answers the supervisors' questions on overall work operations and related problems.
