About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The surrounding community is comprised of the towns of Leesville, DeRidder, New Llano, & Anacoco. The nearest cities are Alexandria & Lake Charles. The area is considered rural with the Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities, located nearby. Also located nearby are Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake & Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, swimming, etc. www.jrtc-polk.army.mil
What You'll Do
- →Applies a variety of electric resistance welding methods and equipment, or one or more manual welding processes, to carry out standard, previously done welding operations.
- →Operates various electric resistance welding machines such as spot, seam, and flash, or use a manual gas torch welding process such as oxyacetylene, to join a variety of different kinds of parts or components.
- →Assists in the check out, troubleshoot and repair of electronic targets, tower controller operating computers and electronic equipment related to range maintenance.
- →Fabricates target coffins, fighting positions, protection baffles, target frames, target frame holders, limit markers, v-notched stakes, flag poles, target stakes, ammunition tables, target silhouettes, and miscellaneous range related equipment.
- →Performs work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints, specifications, engineer plans and own knowledge of construction or needed repairs.
- →Operates motor vehicles and engineering equipment to transport passengers and equipment.
