About the Role

This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2196000 and is part of the G4 located in Draper, UT, with the Utah Army National Guard. IAW UTNGR 690-12 dated AUG 2022, priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTARNG. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is MAJ Keith Hayes.

What You'll Do

  • Exercises knowledge and application of Department of Army (DA), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and state ARNG directives, policies and procedures, subsistence handling, storage, and sanitation methodology, plus food prime vendor food service ordering system, in addition to basic subsistence accounting procedures.
  • Maintains oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and long term system requirements, ARNG Readiness Center equipment modifications, and requirements to meet current workload demands.
  • Budgets for subsistence operations and subsistence requirements, including operational ration ceilings.
  • Develops for the DCSLOG-G4 recommendations, policies, procedures, long range plans, and special projects.
  • Recommends solutions to controversial problems and actions of a precedent-setting nature, to include coordination with major commands and the Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence (ACES).
  • Participates in field exercise planning sessions, discussing availability of subsistence, budgets, issue of operational rations and ARNG support to exercises.
  • Coordinates veterinary staff support for cyclic inspections of operational rations as required.
  • Provides technical liaison service to each ARNG unit, prime vendor, and other vendor companies.
  • Provides subsistence support for troop movements, maneuvers, and emergency and contingency plan requirements, in addition to normal and daily support.
  • Computes and publishes the Basic Daily Food Allowance (BDFA) for the ARNG State.
  • Oversees food service contractor performance.
  • Conducts local command competition through visits and evaluations to subordinate units with food service capability.
  • In accordance with provisions of the Army Regulations internal control systems, initiates, accomplishes and maintains vulnerability assessments, internal control reviews, and, as applicable, proponent checklists.
  • Facilities to ensure they remain within authorized standards and that required reviews areconducted.

Requirements

  • MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.

  • Military Rank: Warrant, Enlisted, Officer, E9/CW3/O3 Compatible Military Assignments: OBR: 88A, 90A, 91A, 92A WMOS: 890A, 920A, 920B, 91, 94 National Guard Membership is required.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
  • Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
  • An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
