This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)). The position is under the guidance and general direction of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Logistics (ODASW(Logistics)) and the Director of Transportation.

- →Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following: Develop, coordinate, interpret, and maintain policy issuances including directives and instructions necessary to implement the transportation and traffic management responsibilities of the Secretary of War.
- →Develop strategies for critical logistics programs and provides guidance to DoW Components for efficient and effective use of DoW and commercial transportation resources.
- →Ensure compliance with policies, recommend policy changes to meet logistics requirements, and coordinate exceptions to policy.
- →Lead transportation policy management teams and provide senior leaders background information, planning rationales, and alternatives.
- →Provide program/budget guidance, legislative proposals, senior leadership support, and DoW Component coordination.
