This position is in the Office of Response and Recovery, Logistics Management Directorate, Logistics Systems Division, Operational Systems Support Branch. The ideal candidate The ideal candidate possesses a wide range of knowledge and skills in logistics management to be able to provide advice, guidance and policy interpretation in support of a specific mission or other designated programs and the execution of these programs in support of day-to-day operations.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this Logistics Management Specialist position, you will serve as an expert Logistics Management Specialist with responsibility for performing work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions required to support a specified mission or other designated program and the execution of these programs in support of day-to-day and disaster operations.
- →This position is in the Office of Response and Recovery, Logistics Management Directorate, Logistics Systems Division, Operational Systems Support Branch.
- →Typical assignments include: Performing work that involves planning, coordinating, or evaluating the logistical actions in support of a disaster field environment.
- →Supporting the development, deployment and use of the Logistics Supply Chain Management System (LSCMS) system.
- →Using quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of program operations.

- →Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
- →All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
- →This announcement is for a position as a CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee).
- →CORE employees are full-time employees hired to directly support the response and recovery efforts related to disasters.

Requirements
