The VISN Chief Supply Chain Officer (VCSCO) provides supply operations oversight and support for the Medical Centers located throughout the geographic area covered by the pertinent VISN or program area. The VCSCO plans, coordinates, interacts with, and evaluates the logistical and supply chain management actions required to support the VISN health care operations.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for administrative and strategic direction of the supply chain, to include budget execution, for VISN-wide logistical programs.
- →Oversees and manages strategic planning, auditing, quality assurance, and program compliance and oversight of all SCM programs and inspections as well as various activities designed to enhance the mission of the affected VISN and its facilities.
- →Identifies all activities involved supporting the needs of supply chain, including capital asset planning, lifecycle management of equipment, strategic sourcing of commodities such as clinical supplies, maintenance supplies and service, subsistence, medical gases, and durable medical equipment and services for inpatient and inpatient services home care.
- →Conducts Supply Chain audits, compliance reviews, and program effectiveness/efficiency reviews based on self-developed and nationally developed standards of all VISN facilities.
- →Maintain VISN supply chain program standards by establishing a training program, developing a curriculum, creating training opportunities, and developing standard tests designed to enhance the skills and abilities of their Medical Center's supply chain staff.
- →Mentor and guide Facility Chief Supply Chain Officers (FCSCOs), and other VISN and facility Supply Chain personnel, including interns resulting from the National Logistics and Acquisition Training Programs.
- →Oversee delegated purchasing authority within the purchase card program for all clinical supply and equipment items.
- →Manages multi-million dollar budgets for staff training, equipment (both capital and non-capital), assigned staff salaries, and special projects.
- →Directs the VISN supply chain management operations that involve planning, coordinating, and evaluating Supply Chain actions required to support VHA's operational readiness efforts and Regional Readiness Center (RRC) program.
- →Provides direct supervision to employees performing various duties supporting the Supply Chain Program throughout the VISN.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: This position may be authorized for Ad-hoc telework.
