This position is for the Medical Supply Distribution (MSD) areas to ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Supply Chain Management including wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities. Assignments include but are not limited to: scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and other material.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include but are not limited to: Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of assigned workload.
- →Monitors status and progress of work, makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities.
- →Obtains assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise, such as backlogs which cannot be disposed of promptly.
- →Estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work.
- →Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.
- →Gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.
- →Maintains current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, or other guidelines as necessary and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up.
- →Checks on work in progress or spot checks work not requiring review.
- →Reviews completed work to see that supervisor instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met.
- →Reports to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees, and on behavior problems or issues.
- →Provides information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel needs.
- →Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Requirements

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959 Physical Requirements: Work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending and lifting of supply packages (occasionally weighing as much as 50 pounds).
- ✓Work requires pushing loaded carts of medical supplies (weighing in excess of 100+ pounds).
- ✓With proper assistance, moves heavier items weighing over 40 pounds.
